about skin injectable fillers

Fillers – In the last decade, a number of different soft tissue “fillers” have been introduced into the marketplace. The original filler was “collagen,” but this has largely been replaced by Hyaluronic acid-based fillers as well as filler materials based on other chemical components. The most common fillers are Hyaluronic acid products, including Restylane and Juvéderm. These fillers can be used to correct fine wrinkles of the face, to fill out the depressed nasolabial folds (smile lines), to enhance the fullness and sensuality of the lip and to correct other depressions or deformities of the face. Dr. Handel has extensive experience with the use of surgical fillers, and his experience is that patients who undergo these procedures are almost universally pleased with the results. Complications are extremely rare and recovery is quite easy. In the last few years, products such as Radiésse have been introduced into the marketplace. Radiésse is filler that can be used for longer lasting enhancement of soft tissue contours.

With Radiésse, we can give patients fuller, rounder cheeks, can correct imperfections of the nasal dorsum, improve the appearance of the nasal tip and even enhance the appearance of the chin. Radiésse and other similar products have enabled us to perform “nonsurgical” rhinoplasty and other operations designed to alter the facial features. Dr. Handel and his staff would be happy to discuss with you all of the different modalities that are available and what can be achieved with these novel approaches.
